Edu, courting Pinky again? (By Chit Ramos)

TAHIMIK na tahimik ang kampo ni Edu Manzano ngayon. Guessing game ang tunay na dahilan kung bakit walang sagot sa mga intriga mula sa kanyang manager, si Manay June Rufino.

Posibleng may malaking pasabog na magaganap one of these days, pero, uunahan ko na sila.

“Hindi ko sasayangin ang anim (6) na taon namin ni Pinky. Susuyuin ko siyang muli,” ito raw ang sabi ni Edu sa isang very reliable source namin na hayaan nyo munang itago ko sa alyas na Mr. D. Tinukoy niya ay ang napakagandang daughter ni Freddie Webb na nagpahayag na wala na sila (Edu and Pinky) sa himig na hindi na daw sila magkakabalikang muli.

Hindi rin kapani-paniwala na may sakit daw si Doods, este, Edu pala at malala daw ang asthma nito kaya’t nawawala sa circulation.

Mismong ang inyong lingkod ang nakakita sa kanya sa Podium kailan lang habang inaayos ang kanyang broadband sa Globe outlet. He was in the pink of health. Literally, reddish-pink ang pisngi ni Edu at napapalingon ang bawa’t makasalubong niya.

Mas hunky nga ang katawan ni Edu kung ikukumpara sa panganay niyang si Luis Manzano. Matipuno ang kanyang katawan at akmang-akma sabihing taglay pa rin niya ang katawang-pang-romansa.

ABS-CBN's Newest Station ID featuring Umagang Kay Ganda Hosts

ABS-CBN launches their newest Station ID this rainy season. The song entitled "Sukob Na" has it's newest version sung by Showtime host Anne Curtis which airs on ASAP this afternoon. Some of the Kapamilya Stars including the hosts of Umagang Kay Ganda are included in their music video. Last year, Aiza Seguerra sang it's acoustic version for their 60th Anniversary of Pinoy Soap Opera in Kapamilya Network.

Their newest Station ID airs during rainy season until they will feature their Christmas Station ID this November. In 2002, ABS-CBN created this concept and the song was originally sung by 17:28, a boy band which became popular during early 2000's.

TV Patrol grabs nomination in an international award

The Kapamilya Network got another nomination from this year's International Emmy Awards to be held on September 28 at the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in New York City.

TV Patrol Special Coverage on Manila Hostage Crisis is the winning entry of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs in News Category. This incident happened on August 23, 2010 (which is remembering it's 1st Anniversary tomorrow) where 8 tourists and the hostage taker himself, Rolando Mendoza, were killed after 12 hours of negotiation and became the most tragic event not just for the Filipinos but for the victims and the Chinese Community.

The said news program will also compete other News Programs in United Kingdom, Iceland and Brazil. Last year, ABS-CBN Primetime Program "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" became nominated as Best Drama Series and Sid Lucero as the Best Performance by an Actor.

Ninoy sa Puso ng Pinoy airs tomorrow

Piolo Pascual realizes dream of being a news docu anchor via the Ninoy Aquino bio on ABS-CBN.

Many Filipinos honor him as one of our country’s modern day heroes. He is known as the father of President Noynoy Aquino and actress Kris Aquino. He is immortalized in the country’s P500 bill. But who really is the man behind these larger-than-life images?

For those who grew up not knowing who he really is, here is a chance to learn more about Ninoy Aquino this Sunday (Aug 21) when ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs commemorates his 28th death anniversary in a video-biography entitled “Ninoy: Sa Puso ng Pinoy” to be hosted by Piolo Pasual.

This is the first time Piolo will be hosting a documentary, and in an interview with “TV Patrol,” the ultimate leading man revealed that he has always wanted to become a journalist like Ninoy thus, this project is a dream come true to him.

“It has always been my desire to be a news anchor. It is such a big honor for me to narrate such a wonderful story. I hope another opportunity like this would arise in the future,” said Piolo in a report aired on “TV Patrol.”

Piolo, who once portrayed the martyred senator in a special “MMK” episode, will show viewers who Ninoy is in the eyes of his children, his siblings, childhood friends, allies and other people he worked or interacted with in the various stages of his life. The special documentary will dig archival photos, videos, and articles on the news archives and other sources to give you a full grasp of what he was like when he was still alive.

TV Patrolers joins the Celebrity Bazaar

ABS-CBN reporters Jing Castañeda, Sol Aragones, Niña Corpuz, Marie Lozano and Zyann Ambrosio joined the Celebrity Bazaar today at Megatrade Hall, SM Megamal. They were selling their items from their own in TV Patrol Booth and many people visited them to buy and take their pictures with their idols. It's just a very huge success for the whole Kapamilya to help less fortunate people who will grant the earnings of this event. It was started yesterday and ends today.

Bumalik na si Bernadette Sembrano sa pambansang morning show na "Umagang Kay Ganda" nitong nakaraang Lunes kung saan magiging host/anchor muli siya matapos magpaalam ang dating main anchor ng Umagang Kay Ganda na si Pinky Webb noong isang linggo. At napagpasiyahan nito magiging reporter na lamang ito dahil sa hirap na itong gumising ng umaga.

Hindi rin malinaw kung talagang mainstay na uli siya at pormal na papalit kay Pinky matapos din itong umalis sa nasabing morning show nuong Pebrero kasabay sila Rica Peralejo, Ginger Conejero at Bekimon. At siya rin muna humahalili sa lugar ni Pinky kapag ito ay absent o nagbakasyon. Pero nadagdag na rin siya maging si Jeffrey Tam sa OBB ng Umagang Kay Ganda.

Pitong taon rin naging host/anchor ng mga morning shows si Ate B. From Magandang Umaga Bayan to Umagang Kay Ganda.

It's nice to see Bernadette again in morning show. Sa dinami-daming commitments sa News and Current Affairs ay nakuha pa rin niya gumising ng umagang upang maihatid ang mga balita at bigyan tayo ng kasiyahan tuwing umaga. Kahit ito ay nagkakasakit saan nitong nakalipas ng mga linggo ay nagdaan sa pagsubok na may kinalaman sa kanyang kalusugan nang nagkaruon ito ng karamdamang Bell's Palsy na sumalalim din sa ilan mga treatments at nalagpasan naman niya ito. Ganoon talaga kamahal ni Bernadette ang kanyang trabaho bilang broadcast journalist at public servant.

Pinky babalik na lang sa pagri-reporter (Latest News from Philippine Star)

Babalik na lang pala sa pagka-reporter si Pinky Webb. Ito pala ang rason kaya niya nilayasan si Ted Failon sa programa nilang Tambalang Webb at Failon sa DZMM. 

Ayon sa kuwento ng mga insider ng ABS-CBN, nagpaalam daw si Pinky na bumalik na lang sa pagri-reporter dahil pagod na siyang gumising ng maaga.

Kasi pala, gumigising si Pinky ng 3:00 a.m. for six years now. So parang napagod na raw ito kaya nagsabi sa management kung puwedeng bumalik na lang siya sa pagiging reporter. Pero hindi naman daw nito iiwan ang pagho-host ng XXX.

Sa pag-alis ni Pinky magso-solo na raw si Ted sa ere. Hindi na raw ito bibigyan ng katambal dahil babalik na rin sa ere si Ms. Korina Sanchez sa kanyang sarili ring programa.

So mauuna raw si Kabayang Noli de Castro, susundan ni Ted at saka papasok si Ms. Korina ayon sa isang spy.

Pero ang say naman ng iba, baka rin naman daw gustong magkaroon ng normal na oras ni Pinky para sa kanyang BF na si Edu Manzano na isang cerfitied Kapatid na.

ABS-CBN News Personalities bagged 3 awards in 2011 Comguild Awards

MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN news correspondents bagged 3 out of 6 awards of the 2011 Comguild Awards at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo on Sunday.

Bandila news anchor Karen Davila was named the best female news presenter while TV Patrol news anchor Ted Failon was hailed as the best male news presenter.

Davila and Failon were also the recipients of the same awards last year.

Meanwhile, the Comguild Awards recognized Sol Aragones as the best field reporter.

More than 2,000 journalism and mass communication students from various colleges and universities nationwide watched the event.

The Comguild Awards is held every year to recognize the exemplary work of journalists in the country.

Its awards committee is composed of highly regarded deans and schools heads of several colleges and universities in the Philippines.

Pinky magpapakasal na kay Edu? (News from Pilipino Star Ngayon)

Nagpaalam na pala sa radio show nila ni Ted Failon si Pinky Webb kahapon. Ang sabi raw ni Pinky ayon sa mga nakarinig : “Ako ay magbabakasyon at pansamantala pong magpapaalam sa radyo. Sa lahat ng tumangkilik sa amin sa Tambalang Failon at Webb maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” sabi ni Webb na alam ng lahat na girlfriend ni Edu Manzano.

Si Pinky ang pumalit kay Ms. Korina Sanchez nang magbitiw ito sa programa nang tumakbo noong bise presidente ang kanyang asawang si Sec. Mar Roxas.

Mahigit isang taon din yata ang itinagal ni Pinky sa programa na ayon sa kanya ay marami siyang natutunan sa nasabing panahon.

Bakasyon daw muna siya at hindi lilipat sa ibang channel.

“Ikaw naman, puro ka joke. Hindi. Dito pa rin ako siyempre sa ABS,” sabi naman ni Pinky nang tanungin siya ni Ted na baka naman lumipat na rin siya“Ibang schedule na pagbalik ko. Pagbakasyon ko, pagbalik ko, mag-iiba na rin ang schedule ko. So abangan n’yo na lang ako. Hindi po ako mawawala dito sa ABS-CBN pero sa radyo, pansamantalang mawawala muna ako,” sagot niya.

Sa pagbabakasyon ni Pinky, nag-iisip ang mga malisyosa at malisyoso, baka naman daw magpapakasal na si Pinky kay Edu na matagal na niyang karelasyon.

Baka raw ang sinasabi niyang pagbabago ay ang pagbabago ng kanyang apelyido?

Hahaha. Maging literal. Hindi rin natin alam.

Never silang umamin pero maraming nagsasabi na sila naman talaga at si Pinky lang ang mailap umamin tungkol dito dahil nga nasa News and Current Affairs siya. In fact nabalita pa nga kasal na sila noon pa.

Kinumpirma ni Julius Babao sa kanyang Twitter account na si Niña Corpus (kung hindi ako nagkakamali) ang papalit kay Ms. Tintin Bersola-Babao sa kanilang morning program sa DZMM na "Magandang Morning with Julius at Niña" mamayang umaga. Napabalitaan na si Tintin Babao ay lilipat sa Kapatid Network kaya nilisan niya ang programa nung nakaraang Linggo. Kaya simula ngayong Sabado at Linggo ay maririnig at mapapanood sa DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 at DZMM Teleradyo ang bagong tambalan sa radyo na tiyak magpapagising sa inyong weekend morning. Mula alas-6 ng umaga hanggang alas-8 ng umaga, makinig lang sa "Magandang Morning with Julius Babao at Niña Corpus".

Ang ubod ng cute at ubod ng galing na "Patrol ng Pilipino" na si Jeff Canoy ay nagdiriwang ng kanyang kaarawan.

Naalala ko sa kanya na lalong nagpahanga sa akin ay yung nai-cover niya ang pagsabog ng Bulkan ng Bulusan sa Sorsogon. Inabot siya ng ilang linggo para ihatid niya sa atin ang kaganapan ng pagbuga ng abo sa nasabing bayan.

To Papi Jeff (Hope you like my special blog for you since it's my first time to write a blog about you. Ayieee. :D ), I hope na sana ay manatili kang malusog at masigasig sa iyong ginagawa. At sana may makita nang magandang babae para sa'yo (Alam kong hindi ako yun kaya di ko na ine-expect yun. Nyahahaha). I will miss Pinky Webb :(

Last April 7, it was a very memorable experience to visit the Loop Studio for Umagang Kay Ganda. And I'm very glad that Ms. Pinky Webb greeted me a very beautiful morning to me. That was the time I've seen her personally for the first and last time. She also introduced me and my fellow winner in our Bida Audience of the Day for their "Bagong Gising" Photo Contest which I joined last March. Then I'm very lucky to become their audience in UKG live.

She is so pretty and very humble in person. When I greeted her, she responded me a big smile and a graceful greeting for me. Although I don't even talked to her or take some pictures together, I'm still overwhelmed to know her. Since then, I started to say thank the staff and crew of UKG for their great acknowledgment for us and to Ms. Charity Temple, their multimedia producer, for inviting me.

My very own throw pillow

I got my throw pillow as a sign of remembrance. As I always remember her, I will embrace this pillow everytime and saying "Umagang kay Ganda". That was the time I started to love and admire her as a very beautiful, talented and well-known news anchor in our generation. I remembered that she always replied to my tweets and encouraged me to support the fight for justice to her brother, Hubert Webb, I always love her already because she is very friendly to somebody, whether it's good or bad. And, as she always tweeted to me, Pinky gave me thanks and mentioned my first name "Jessica" with a smiley on it. I smiled at her.

I had a very nice conversation with Pinky on Twitter. :)

As she faces her new chapter in her chosen field, I wish her all the best. And also, I would like to take this chance to say thank Ms. Pinky Webb for inspiring me and makes me happy and stay positive in everyday's challenges. I will definitely miss her in Umagang Kay Ganda and her radio program "Failon at Webb". And most of all, as you may now face the reality of leaving anything and changing everything, I will always be here, from the bottom of my heart, to love, respect and support you.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and stay beautiful. Mahal ka namin, Ms. Pinky. :)

Pinky Webb bids farewell to her radio program "Failon at Webb" (ABS-CBN News)

MANILA, Philippines – No, ABS-CBN anchor Pinky Webb is not moving to another network.

However, Webb on Thursday bid her tandem Ted Failon and followers of their popular dzMM morning radio program “Tambalang Failon at Webb” goodbye.

“Ako ay magbabakasyon at pansamantalang magpapaalam dito po sa radyo. Sa lahat ng tumangkilik sa amin sa 'Tambalang Failon at Webb' maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” Webb said before their program ended on Thursday.

Webb had been co-anchoring the radio program with Failon for the past one year and a half.

“Mami-miss ko po kayong lahat and Ted, thank you so much for mentoring me, ang dami, dami kong natutunan sa iyo. One day, some day, magkikita tayo muli,” said Webb.

Aside from Failon, Webb also thanked the staff of dzMM whom, she said, were unaware of her plans.

“Sa staff ng DZMM, hindi nila alam, thank you po sa inyong lahat. Ang dami-dami, dami ko talagang natutunan and I will miss all of you,” she said.

“Lahat po ng nanonood at nakikinig sa amin in the past one and a half year—you’ve been an inspiration to me. Sa lahat ng mga followers ko din, hindi ko kayo maiisa-isa sorry, pero maraming, maraming, maraming salamat!” she added.

Failon, for his part, prodded Webb further and asked her if she will be working for another channel after her vacation.

Failon: “Bakasyon ka muna tapos babalik ka may trabaho ka nang iba?

Webb: “Oo”

Failon: “Lilipat ka ng channel? Kapatid ka na rin?”

Webb: “Ikaw naman, puro ka joke. Hindi. Dito pa rin ako syempre sa ABS"

Failon: “Magbabakasyon ka pag balik mo mayroon ka nang ibang mahal?”

Webb: “Ibang schedule na pagbalik ko. Pagbakasyon ko, pagbalik ko, magiiba na din ang schedule ko. So abangan niyo na lang ako. Hindi po ako mawawala dito sa ABS-CBN pero sa radyo, pansamantalang mawawala muna ako

Failon told their listeners and viewers over Teleradyo that he’s temporarily going solo on the show starting Monday.

“Meantime, it’s gonna be solo flight Failon hanggang sa ilang pong pagkakaton. Pinky, thank you for the company. Ako mismo ay pinasaya mo, pinatawa mo. Ako din natuto sa iyo. Ako ay nagkaroon pa ng pagkakataon na makilala ka ng lubusan,” he said.

Failon, a widower, could not help but again tease the still single broadcast journalist.

Failon: “Ang sa akin lang, walang permanente sa mundo. Lahat ng bagay nagbabago. So, ang mga bagay na ito ay pagbabago at syempre ho bukas, makalawa sinong makapagsasabi kung tayong dalawa magkatuluyan?

“Dahil hanggang ngayon, for the record Mr. Chairman, bukas pa din ang puso ko sa iyo bilang first lady ko…pag ako ay naging presidente ng kumpanyang ito!”

To this, Webb just shrugged off his teasing with a smile.

“Pansamantala, bye everyone!” she said.

“Good luck Pinky! Have a good vacation at sana mag enjoy ka at sana pagbalik mo dito fresh na fresh ka para sa iyong bagong assignment!” said Failon.
